It is Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, 2015

Dr. John Pombe Magufli, President Elect of the United Republic of Tanzania

The National Electoral Commission of Tanzania (NEC) has finally released results for Presidential Elections held on Sunday, 25th October, 2015.

Dr. John Pombe Magufuli of the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), won after obtaining 8,882,935 votes equivalent to 58.46 % of the valid votes cast, followed by Mr. Edward Lowassa of the Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) who obtained 6,072,848 votes equivalent to 39.97 % of the valid votes cast.

However, Mr. Edward Lowassa of CHADEMA, who is also representing the coalition of the union for the constitution of the people (UKAWA), has contested the results claiming his votes were "stolen".

We hope that despite the contest by the CHADEMA presidential candidate, the country's strong willed, peaceful people will not allow their homeland to sink into chaos.

On the other hand, the task ahead Dr. Magufuli who is patriotic and cannot be bought, will be, inter alia, to negotiate better and fairer terms for Tanzania from foreign investors. Another task will obviously be to build infrastructures of one of the fastest growing economies in the world and lead Tanzania to a "Middle Class Economy".

We take this opportunity to congratulate Dr. Magufuli and wish him success in his new position (the highest in the country).

God Bless Tanzania... God Bless Africa.
